Immortals & Dignitas boast surprising value for fantasy LCS week 5

In order to win big in E1 Fantasy, you want to find VALUE! I’m not just talking about getting your money back; I’m talking about getting what you paid for AND some more. What is value? Well in a perfect world, the highest-priced player at a position would score the most points and so on down; they would all provide value based on their price.

We don’t want to be average though; we want more. So we are looking for the players who will score much higher than their price suggests, returning extra value. To help you find these value players, we provided two options at each of the six lineup spots.

Kieran "Allorim" Logue — Immortals — $180,000 (vs Dignitas & TSM)

Overshadowed by the promotion of the veteran LCS players from Academy, Allorim is a rookie with a lot of promise. Just last week, he went head-to-head with two of the top LCS teams (TL & EG) and still scored 43 points, despite losing both games. He has the highest Kill Participation of any currently starting Top Laners (72.5%) and now gets two much easier matchups in lane this weekend.

Samson "Lourlo" Jackson — Dignitas — $130,000 (vs Immortals & FlyQuest)

A Dignitas player? Whaaat? Hear me out. I do not expect DIG to win a game this weekend, which seems backward for a sleeper pick. However, he doesn’t need to win to be worth a measly $130k. In his 4 games as starter, he has 3 games where he scored at least 12 points, grabbing 2 Kills in each game despite every game resulting in a loss. That is a solid floor for a Top Laner. Also side note, did you know his name is Sam Jackson? Dope.

Jungle

Joshua "Dardoch" Hartnett — Dignitas — $130,000 (vs Immortals & FlyQuest)

ANOTHER Dignitas player?! Is this a troll article? No, please, just sit back down. In his debut weekend, we saw Dardoch be put on two carry champions, lead his team in Kill Participation and get First Blood and a Double Kill against C9! It is very clear that Dardoch is a major part of their gameplan, even trusting him with the LCS debut of Wukong-Jungle. DIG probably won’t win a game, but like Lourlo, they don’t have to in order for Dardoch to return value. He just put up 27 points in an 0-2 week, so consider that the floor and hope that his two games feature as many fights as they should.

Mads "Broxah" Brock-Pedersen — Team Liquid — $270,000 (vs Counter Logic Gaming & Golden Guardians)

Even though LEC Broxah hasn’t quite translated directly over to the LCS, you still can’t argue against the talent. After starting the season slowly on Trundle pillar duty, Broxah has been leaned on more in TL’s fights. Five of his last 6 games have either come on his signature Lee Sin or the carry-heavy Graves. Now he gets my personal top-ranked schedule on the week. This might just be the right set up for LEC Champ Broxah to finally appear.

Mid

Eugene "Pobelter" Park  — Counter Logic Gaming — $250,000 (vs Team Liquid & Evil Geniuses
)

This is not the same team that got perfect gamed to open the Summer Split (like, yeah, it is, but you know what I mean). It hasn’t really gone noticed lately, but Pobelter has been friggin hot lately. Since that perfect-loss, Pobelter has only failed to score 22 points twice (one of those came against C9 which doesn’t really count). He topped 30 points in his last 2 non-C9 games and faces two teams that will require Pobelter to pop-off if CLG is to win either game.

David "Insanity" Challe — Immortals — $260,000 (vs Dignitas & TSM)

After just 4 games into his LCS career, Insanity looks like he belongs. Across the 4 games, he has 11 Kills to only 5 Deaths, and has scored over 20 fantasy points in 3 of those games (the one he didn’t want against C9 and that shouldn’t even count). Now IMT has their first game in which they are actually favored, followed by a TSM team that loves to fight. It is hard to save money on your Mid Laner, but Insanity lets you do that.

Bot

Apollo "Apollo" Price — Immortals — $230,000 (vs Dignitas & TSM)

Biggest takeaway from Week 4, IMT looks legit. They are far better than their record and are about to make a run up the standings to prove it. Apollo has proven to be a productive fantasy player for years and will be able to show off that talent against lowly DIG. The TSM match will be a lot tougher, but should only encourage more fighting. It is rare to feel safe with a Bot budget pick, but Apollo’s 45 points in an 0-2 Week 4 should give you comfort.

Trevor "Stixxay" Hayes  — Counter Logic Gaming — $260,000 (vs Team Liquid & Evil Geniuses)

Outside of the perfect-loss to EG and the C9 loss, Stixxay hasn’t put up less than 23 points in a single game. Talk about under-the-radar production. Two of those games were losses, which gives you some comfort that he can produce without needing a win. He may not get a win this week, but if you have watched any CLG lately, you know they will go down swinging. TL and EG both can be beaten, giving CLG some big upside.

Support

Andy "Smoothie" Ta  — Counter Logic Gaming — $90,000 (vs Team Liquid & Evil Geniuses)

I honestly did not realize how enticing CLG players were until I started writing this. My vote for Smoothie is honestly more about my confidence in Stixxay and Smoothie’s price. If you are trying to go budget at Support, your main goal is not to get hurt by the player. Well, Smoothie is Top 5 at the position in Assists and hasn’t gone negative all year, so you can sleep easy.

Nickolas "Hakuho" Surgent — Immortals — $100,000 (vs Dignitas & TSM)

Death, Taxes, and Apollo laning with Hakuho; the only guarantees in life. These two have built an amazing rapport as they have been a pair for over 3 total years. IMT has a great opportunity this week, and Hakuho’s 2nd best Kill Participation among Supports number shows that he will have a large role in it.

Team

Dignitas — $140,000 (vs Immortals & FlyQuest)

DIGNITAS AGAIN WHAT IS GOING ON. Please calm down and hear me out. Here is a fun exercise. Make a lineup you like, and then put DIG as your team. It is amazing what you can do with your money when your team is only $140k. However, DIG has proven that they can score points even as they are getting 2-0’d. DIG has a 50% First Blood rate and averages 2 Dragons per game (both stats being better than CLG).

Immortals — $230,000 (vs Dignitas & TSM)

How far can you scroll down the team section and find a team guaranteed a win? I landed on IMT as my mouth is watering with DIG on the slate. You can’t expect a win over TSM, but IMT did just have a weekend where the team scored 20 points in both their losses, so you won’t even need a 2-0 to be worth this nice price.
