This week, we see some new faces in the Booms and Busts list, unlike last week which saw so many repeats. Don't worry, Fnatic and EG still found a way to sneak into the Busts (for the third week in a row), but overall, it's a bit more fresh this time around. So check out all the new faces as you prepare your draft for Week 5, and make sure to plan accordingly!
BOOM — Impact— Team Liquid (LCS)
Jung "Impact" Eon-yeong finally gave a strong performance last week, nearly doubling his average points per game and well overshooting his value. Priced at just $200,000, Impact put up nearly 45 points, making him the third highest scorer despite being one of the cheapest Top Laners of the week. What's more impressive is he did this while facing Colin "Solo" Earnest in one of his two game who happened to be the top scoring Top Laner this week. It helps that Team Liquid had two really long, close games, giving him plenty of time to farm and rack up kills and assists to bump up his score.
BUST — Wunder — G2 Esports (LEC)
Martin "Wunder" Hansen didn't quite perform as intended. He was the most expensive Top this week, but was at the bottom of the list for overall points. G2 slaughtered Misfits, but the game was so fast, he had almost no time to farm. He got a lot of assists, but only one kill, leaving his first game pretty low, despite such a dominant win. His second game wasn't any better. He got much more farm, but had a poor KDA, overall leaving him with just 24 points despite costing $310,000.
BOOM — Razork — Misfits (LEC)
Iván "Razork" Martín Díaz tied Mingyi "Spica" Lu and Zhiqiang "Shad0w" Zhao for third most points this week, but cost $40,000 and $70,000 less respectively. Crazy enough, he put up these points despite both games lasting only 26 minutes, and one being a hard loss, with him feeding pretty hard, finishing 2/7/3. However, in his win, he got almost 300 farm and went 7/0/9, netting him a ton of points, and launching him straight into this week's Boom category.
BUST — Xerxe — Origen (LEC)
Andrei "Xerxe" Dragomir didn't live up to his name this past week, losing both games on teamfight/skirmish style junglers. Not only did he not get much farm due to the champions he locked in, but he didn't navigate teamfights as cleanly as one would expect him to, which left him often dead and without many kills or assists to make up for it. Despite costing $260,000, he ended third to last, with only 21 points.
BOOM — Special — Excel (LEC)
This dude tripled his normal points per game this week! And he did so against last week's Boom, Aljoša "Milica" Kovandžić, and top tier Mid Laner, Rasmus "Caps" Winther! Joran "Special" Scheffer had quite the weekend, playing two relatively long games (to give him just shy of 700 farm) and carrying his team in each of them. In the end, he had 11 kills and 12 assists, only dying five times.
BUST — Jiizuke— Evil Geniuses (LCS)
For the third week in a row, Daniele "Jiizuke" di Mauro has been on the Busts list. At this point, I think it's just the E1 Fantasy guys for setting his salary too high. There's not much to say other than EG has been trying out new playstyles, leaving Jiizuke on champions that don't necessarily suit him, and it shows. Also - at this point I think it's needless to say - but maybe don't pick up Jiizuke for a bit.
BOOM — Mash — FlyQuest (LCS)
After spending two weeks as the AD Carry Boomer, Yiliang "Peter" "Doublelift" Peng, was overtaken by Brandon "MasH" Phan in Week 4 of the LCS. FlyQuest only went 1-1 this weekend, but their combination of long games with high kills and low deaths really propelled their E1 Fantasy performance. Three members of FlyQuest were the top scorers of the week, and MasH was the AD Carry Boom. MasH was near the bottom of price range for AD Carries last week, at $250,000, but was tied for fourth in points, scoring 56. (His price skyrocketed for Week 5, but his matchups are pretty favorable, FYI.)
BUST — Upset — Origen (LEC)
After spending two weeks as the AD Carry Buster, Bae "Bang" Jun-sik, finally was replaced this week as well. He still didn't perform particularly spectacularly, but he was well over Elias "Upset" Lipp, who was the most expensive of all AD Carries at $360,000 and essentially tied for second fewest points at only 28.82. Origen had a rough weekend, losing both of their games, and accruing almost no kills across the board. Upset ended with a 1/2/8 KDA, which doesn't stack up against most in the AD Carry role.
BOOM — Mikyx — G2 Esports (LEC)
G2 has had an interesting season. Not quite as INTeresting as Fnatic's (see below), but interesting nonetheless (see well above, Wunder as the top lane Bust). Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle, however, overperformed for the team this weekend, putting up an incredible score in their game against Misfits, going 2/1/13, and playing in the farming role in their game against Excel, earning extra points not often granted to Supports.
It's worth noting, he was actually heavily overshadowed by Lee "IgNar" Dong-geun, who scored 20 points more while costing $10,000 less, but we're celebrating him over on the Top Scorers article. So here, we'll let Mikyx shine, as a way to restore balance to G2's name and get them back on path to return to glory. Mikyx ended with ~37 points, costing only $170,000. A few more of those weeks could put him back as a favorable pickup again.
BUST — Hylissang — Fnatic (LEC)
Zdravets "Hylissang" Galabo found his way (and Fnatic's way) back onto the Bust list. His first game against SK Gaming gave him a ton of points, leading him to a potential Boom performance weekend, but then his 0/6/0 Leona against Schalke 04 took away a bunch of those points, reducing him to just below 20 for the weekend total, leaving him hovering just below the lowest scoring support yet again.
BOOM — Excel Esports (LEC)
Not only did Excel win both of their games, they went for the completionist achievement, missing out on only one tower between the two games, and claiming most of the various objectives otherwise. At the end of the week, they walked away with six Dragons, three Barons, and three Rift Heralds, helping them cash in on a bunch of extra points. They scored 56, despite being near the bottom of the salary costs at $200,000. (Also, shoutouts to S04 who cost $100,000 and put up 41 points and Immortals who cost $130,000 and put up 40!)
BUST — Origen (LEC)
Like was mentioned before, Origen did not have a great week. They were able to take a bunch of Dragons, but otherwise got very few objectives and lost both of their games, leaving them with a pitiful 24 points on their $270,000 salary. They didn't look particularly clean in either game, so maybe hold off till they get their game figured out before signing them.
