[LCK Today] DRX continues their undefeated streak... T1 joins LCK's 3-win club

On the 28th (KST), week 2 of the 2020 LCK Summer split came to its conclusion. DragonX was able to remain undefeated by taking down their opponents, Afreeca Freecs, while T1 continued on their win streak by taking down SANDBOX Gaming. DRX now stand at the top of the standings with a 4-0 record, widening the gap between the teams with a 3-1 record in the standings.

In game 1 between DRX and AF, DRX took down AF with a team composition that was focused around Deft’s Ezreal. With top Karma, mid Morgana, and support Braum, they had 3 support champions in different lanes. Not only was DRX fearless in taking their fight to AF in the mid lane, it was a key moment which tipped the scales for DRX and was able to take down AF. Despite AF drafting an ideal team composition for themselves, and even performing quite well, they were nowhere but within DRX’s grasp.

Although not in a similar fashion as game 1, DRX also took down AF in game 2 as well. Despite DRX looking quite shaky with Spirit’s repeated ganks in the mid lane early, DRX was able to get on top of Aphelios with his summoner spell down in late game teamfights to provide themselves with footing to get back in the game. The teamfight in front of the baron pit was the key teamfight that turned the tides for DRX, as they solidified themselves in the first place of the standings with this victory over AF.

T1 took down SB in both game 1 and 2. In game 1, Canna was the key player of the game, as not only did he manage to solo kill Summit’s Lucian, he was even able to bait OnFleek’s Gragas into his turret to successfully kill him as well. He played a key part in tipping the scales for T1, as T1 did not shy away from taking the fight to SB and closed out the game with a 10K gold lead.

In game 2, T1 seemed to struggle early on against SB’s early movements around the map. With SB taking early rift herald, dragon, and even a kill, they looked to snowball the game early on. With T1 making a couple of mistakes here and there shortly afterwards, it seemed as if SB was going to take the series to a game 3. However, with jaw-dropping teamfighting from T1 with dragon soul on the line, they were able to come back from behind to even take Baron Nashor and close out the series against SB.
