On the 28th (KST), T1 was able to take down SANDBOX Gaming in the 2020 LCK Summer split. WIth a set score of 2-0, T1 was able to take their 3rd victory of the split. Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok played Azir in both game 1 and 2, and did not shy away from the fight. He told the press room that he’s looking forward to the match against DAMWON, and that he’s always ready to pull out surprise picks.

The following is Faker’s post-match interview in the press room at LoL Park.

Thoughts on the victory, and taking the 3rd match victory of the split?

We’re now on a 3-match win streak, and I hope to continue this streak. It’s been a while since we had a 2-0 victory, so I’m pretty satisfied.

It seems as if T1 is trying to change its playstyle. How much do you believe that the team’s adjusted to this new playstyle?

For myself, I don’t think we have. We’re making the right plays situationally, but we’re not performing at the level we want just yet, so rather than putting the focus on the team’s playstyle, we’re currently focused on performing better.

Canna was named POG for both game 1 and 2. How do you rate his recent performances?

Compared to how he was in scrims, he’s gotten a lot better. He’s making the plays that the team needs, and it’s just practice coming to fruition in matches.

Around the end of game 1, you went over to the enemy lines via the blasting plant. Can you tell us what happened?

I wanted to deal damage after I went over, but I got hit by the enemy Varus’ ultimate, so it didn’t work out. It was a plan that failed to work out.

In game 2, you predicted Gragas’ pathing to use ‘Emperor’s Divide’ (Azir’s ult).

It wasn’t a risky play, so I went for it, but it didn’t work out.

However, in the last teamfight of game 2, although you were caught out, you were able to escape through the raptor camp. Was it all calculated?

It didn’t work out the way it did in my head, but we won because my teammates played really well.

Your next opponents are DAMWON Gaming. With ShowMaker, who has not only been performing exceptionally well recently, but also been at the top of the solo queue ladder, as your opponent, how do you expect the match up to go?

They’re playing incredibly well these days, but so are we, so I think it’ll be a very fun match. In terms of champion pool, I’m practicing many champions, but there are a couple surprise picks in my pocket, so if the stars align, I might pull them out.

Lastly, a word to your fans?

The next couple of matches are against very strong teams. As fans are expecting use to perform well in them, we’ll make sure to live up to their expectations, and finish the Summer split at the top.
