For the first time in five weeks, Cloud9 did not win the NA Cup for the 2020 World of Warcraft Arena World Championship. That is not because another team won, but instead because the 2020 AWC has already concluded with C9 winning every all four NA Cups in dominant fashion.

Cloud9 kicked off its dominance of the AWC with a victory over Method Gaming's North American team, Method Orange, in the Grand Finals of NA Cup 1. C9 would repeat a 4-1 championship victory in the Grand Finals of NA Cup 2, this time against Golden Guardians.

The finals appearance was bittersweet for GG, but the Golden State Warriors affiliate would once again get its change against Cloud9 in the Grand Final of NA Cup 3. C9 had plans to write a script, however, showcasing that it had learned from its last match against Golden Guardians. C9 swept GG 4-0 to win NA Cup 3 to continue its reign of dominance.

Cloud9 faced its toughest opponent in the 2020 WoW Arena World Championship in Spacestation Gaming. In the Grand Finals of NA Cup 4, Spacestation Gaming managed to push C9 to a 3-2 score and continued to fight valiantly until the reigning NA champion shut the door 4-2.

With four consecutive wins under its belt, Cloud9 leads the Americas with 480 points. These points can add up to a ticket into the AWC Battle for Azeroth Circuit at the end of the season. The three teams who lost to C9 in finals matches — Spacestation Gaming with 300 points , Golden Guardians with 260 points, and Method Orange with 212 points — hold the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th place spots on the point system for the Americas. M2KC rounds out the top 5 in the 4th place spot with 240 points.
