On the 21st (KST), Gen.G defeated kt Rolster in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea Summer Split. It was a very close 2-1 victory for Gen.G. Although they had the lead for most of the games, they had a hard time finishing. After some twists and turns, Gen.G was able to destroy kt Rolster’s Nexus a second time. Kim “Kellin” Hyeong-gyu and Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong were voted as the Players of the Games and were interviewed afterward.

Congratulations on the win. How do you feel?

Kellin: It was a really hard game today. I feel good that we won.

Bdd: It was really close today, but it was an important match that we really had to win. It’s really a relief that we won.

(To Kellin) You were the starting support today and got the POG.

Kellin: Our coach gave me a chance, telling me to do my best, so I played thinking just that.

You demolished the bot lane with Karma. How was it?

Kellin: Karma was going to be flexed to other lanes according to the opponent’s picks, but it seemed that Karma would be best as support, so I played her.

What do you think the biggest difference between you and Life is?

Kellin: The difference… I don’t know.

How was it playing against support Sion?

Kellin: My teammates were throwing hard, so it was difficult (Laughs). Everyone did alright after all so we endured well.

Bdd: I don’t remember that well… All I know is that I should throw Kellin after this interview.

Kuro picked Twisted Fate in all three games. What did you think?

Bdd: We talked about it within the team. Twisted Fate is being played well in the competitions. The side lanes struggled a lot. I’m thankful to them.

Rascal’s been playing Malphite as if it’s his best pick. How is Malphite?

Bdd: Recently, he's really confident. Rascal said whoever plays in top lane today, he'll kill them. And he did.  It’s good that he really did. As for Malphite, we started picking him because he’s good against Wukong.

The ocean dragon’s soul seems really good. Is it surely the top tier soul?

Bdd: Other dragons’ souls don’t have that much pressure but if the opponent is about to get the ocean dragon’s soul, it’s really a lot of pressure.

When you had the triple kill, if you didn’t have the soul?

Bdd: If we didn’t have the soul, I would have probably died right away.

How are you going to prepare for the next match?

Kellin: In the next match, I’ll initiate fights better and do well without making mistakes.

A word to your teammates who throw?

Kellin: If I say it here, I think they’ll pound me later (Laughs).

A word to the fans?

Bdd: Our performances have been shaky lately, but I’ll be thankful if you keep cheering for us, believing that we’ll get better. Thank you.
