Galen "Moon" Holgate has returned to the League of Legends Championship Series. The former Counter Logic Gaming Academy Jungler will rejoin his former squad, this time as its Head Coach for the 2020 LCS Academy League Summer Split.

Moon most recently debuted as Head Coach for Radiance, an esports organization founded by former League of Legends professional player Hai "Hai" Lam.  As a Jungle/Mid duo, Moon and Hai led FlyQuest to a top 4 finish in the 2017 NA LCS Spring Playoffs.

Moon has spent time on both LCS and Academy rosters for a multitude of organizations. In addition to his career peak as a Jungler on FlyQuest, Moon also played for Team Liquid, Team Liquid Academy, NRG Esports, Apex Gaming, Clutch Gaming, and Clutch Gaming Academy. Moon was the starting Jungler for CLG Academy in 2019, and started a few games for CLG's main roster before retiring as a player at the conclusion of the season.

CLG Academy was marred by visa issues throughout the 2020 LCS Academy League Spring Split, and the team found itself eliminated from post-season contention by week 7. CLG finished the split in last place with a 4-14 record.

In returning to the team as 'Coach Galen', Moon should be able to help CLG Academy in a variety of ways ahead of the Summer Split. Moon has played extensively with CLG Academy Mid Laner Jean-Sébastien "Tuesday" Thery and Support Lee "Fill" Hyo-won, and his familiarity with the two most important positions for a Jungler to synergize with should provide a helpful veteran's perspective to young Jungler Kristopher "Fragas" Myhal.

Moon's experience on mixed language rosters, specifically on NRG Esports with Top Laner Jeong "Impact" Eon-young and Mid Laner Lee "GBM" Chang-seok, may also be helpful for promising young South Korean AD Carry Oh "Wind" Myeong-jin integrate into the team optimally. Wind not only split time between CLG Academy and the main Counter Logic Gaming roster, but was also unable to compete for over half the split due to visa issues.
