Esports organization Fnatic has made a swift adjustment to their League of Legends staff. Strategic Coach Marius "Veigar V2" Aune has been dropped from the team after several messages surfaced showing, as Fnatic states "extremely concerning messages."
The messages Fnatic refers to showed up on Twitter when a user, whose name for privacy reasons will be kept anonymous, responded to a thread highlighting previous toxic online behavior by Aune. On the images, Aune can be seen making several extremely sexual comments. The Twitter accounts displayed are ones he used to control, but are currently suspended or deleted from the social media platform.
Aune's target at the time was underage at the time the messages were sent, the latest of which stem from 2018. But it didn't stop there. Aune also responded to an image displaying a minor, saying he'd "choose the little one to the left." In another screenshot, where Twitter user XDDDDDDivan asks if Aune 'cums', Aune can be seen responding with "only on little one," once again making a highly sexual comment in reference to a child.
The original Tweet highlighting Aune's comments has been deleted. However, Inven Global obtained the pictures before the Tweet was taken down. Upon request of the target of Veigar V2's messages to protect their identity, we have turned images of the targets into cartoon versions.
Fnatic, who hired Aune as full-time analyst at the start of the year, didn't need long to think. Just hours later, the organization released a statement on Twitter: "We have been made aware today of several extremely concerning messages sent by a contractor associated with our League of Legends team. These messages were sent in 2017 and 2018, prior to his association with Fnatic. We have immediately severed all ties with this individual."
