In any shooter-style video game, aimbot hacking is something developers need to watch out for, and it looks like Riot Games' VALORANT is no different. A clip of a streamer's teammate in a VALORANT Closed Beta game was posted to the Livestream Fail subreddit by Reddit user amaz8, which shows the streamer spectating his teammate using obvious aimbotting to eliminate four opponents. The clip shows the hacker clearly aware of his enemies' locations before they appear.

The streamer, 'GoldenHand7', has made sure that the exploit is known to the VALORANT developers. His reaction of incredulous laughter and clear skepticism from his initial stream clip when watching his teammate's hacked 1v4 says it all.

How does aimbotting work? Alex Nelson, a writer at British publication "i" broke it down succinctly in an article about Fortnite aimbots. "An aimbot is a software tool that allows players to shoot enemies without having to aim their weapon in video games," Nelson writes. "It works by using the player's computer to receive information about all other players, whether they are visible from the player's position or not."

Riot Games' anti-cheat security system, Vanguard, is built off of the anti-cheat software the developer has used for League of Legends for the past few years, with the primary difference being that Vanguard boots up with the player's system to ensure protection across all future and current Riot titles. The developer has assured that no additional information will be gathered from players with Vanguard installed, but the program's expansiveness has stoked privacy concerns within the community.

Riot Games has also offered up to $100,000 to anyone able to point out security flaws in Vanguard. Regardless of whether the clip above featuring the aimbotting software on GoldenHand7's stream qualifies, the streamer has done his part to raise awareness on this VALORANT exploitation.
