Tonight on Tuesday, April 14 at 5:00pm PT, Dignitas Academy Mid Laner Tanner "Damonte" Damonte will teach Major League Baseball star and San Francisco Giants outfielder Hunter Pence how to play League of Legends. The pair will be streaming as part of Verizon's 'Pay It Forward LIVE' to help small businesses.

Hunter Pence is a veteran outfielder in Major League Baseball, and has played for the Houston Astros, Texas Rangers, Philadelphia Phillies, and his current team, the San Francisco Giants. As a member of the Giants from 2012-2018, Hunter Pence helped the Giants win not one but two World Series Championships in both 2012 and 2014. Pence is an avid fan of Starcraft II esports, an investor in Cloud9, and streams Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and other games with his wife on Twitch.

Damonte qualified for the 2019 League of Legends World Championship as the starting Mid Laner for Clutch Gaming, but upon the team's rebranding to Dignitas, Damonte found himself as the starting Mid Laner for DIG Academy.

Dignitas Academy started off the 2020 League of Legends Championship Series Academy League Spring Season in meteoric fashion with a perfect first round-robin, but fell off in the second-half and was eliminated from the post-season by Evil Geniuses Academy. Both DIG Academy and Dignitas' LCS team have benefitted from the organization's partnership with Verizon in the form of a large training compound, and participates in the 'Pay It Forward LIVE' campaign as part of the partnership.
