On the 9th (KST), T1 and Afreeca Freecs respectively took victories against SANDBOX Gaming and Griffin. With this win, Afreeca was finally able to pull themselves out of a six-match losing streak.

In Game 1 of T1 vs SB, T1 was able to shut down every single play that SB was trying to make. Although things weren’t looking bad for SB early on, T1 was able to focus their Mid lane, and showed more focus to take down their enemy carries at critical moments of the game. With continued side lane management, T1 was able to widen the gold gap to pick up the pace of the game. A decisive teamfight broke out under Faker’s Azir turret, which resulted in T1’s dominating victory.

Game 2 was even more dominating. Canna’s Jayce bullied his enemy laner right from the get go, and with priority around all points of the map, T1 did not give any leeway to SB and further displayed their supremacy.

In the second match of the evening, AF was able to end their 6-match losing streak. Game 1 was a liberating victory by AF. Jelly’s Alistar was the star of the match, where he stood in the frontlines and proactively took the fight to Griffin. With an incredible chain of abilities in the teamfight by the Dragon pit, AF was able to take the momentum of the game, which transitioned to Dragon Soul and Baron Nashor, ultimately resulting in AF’s victory.

In Game 2, AF was able to win by coming back from behind. While Griffin had the lead until the mid game, AF was able to show more focus and was able to come back from behind. As it was a 2-0 victory by AF after a six-match losing streak, the victory seemed that much sweeter. Meanwhile, Griffin now sits at a 4-13 record, and with two matches left, their chances of playing in the Relegations Tournament became that much higher.
