On April 1st (KST), DragonX defeated SANDBOX Gaming 2-1 in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea Spring Split. With the win, DragonX took a step closer to the top teams. DragonX top laner Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon and bot laner Kim “Deft” Hyuk-gyu had outstanding performances in games 1 and 3. They were voted as players of the games (POG) and were interviewed after the match.
Congrats on today’s win. (To Doran) How do you feel getting voted unanimously as POG for Game 1?
Doran: I’m thankful. It feels good since I haven’t received a PoG for a while.
It’s the first POG for Deft since February as well.
Deft: We should have won Game 2… I would have been able to get it in Game 2, but I got blown up. That’s a bit regretful.
You let through the Kalista-Taric comp and picked top Karma.
Deft: It was a comp that we attempted for the first time. I felt that it’s quite good. We played it because it felt right.
How’s the Sett vs. Aatrox matchup?
Doran: I think Sett is better.
You met several rookie top laners. Who was the most impressive?
Doran: Since they were all good, I can’t evaluate them.
Deft had said that the advantage of playing online is that you can wear comfortable clothes. Are you wearing only your top right now?
Deft: When I heard that I was the POG, I changed into our uniform. I can’t play wearing nothing… I have sweat pants on.
Doran: I wore our full jersey during the game, top and bottom to emphasize my professionalism. cvMax told us to do as we want.
Deft: It’s the same with me; I wore clothes that can bring my best performances.
Aphelios was very strong in Game 2. How was the game?
Deft: Rather than thinking about Aphelios, if we were able to scale well, our comp would have been better.
Lastly, a word to the fans?
Doran: Thank you for cheering for us. We’ll do well in our next match too. Thank you.
Deft: Although we were a bit shaky recently, but we’ll work harder to make our performances better and reach higher in the standings.
