The 2020 League of Legends Championship Series Spring Split has reached the end of its schedule, but the dust has yet to settle. The final day of games saw TSM lock in 5th place at 9-9 after a loss to Dignitas, and defending LCS champion Team Liquid was eliminated by Cloud9.

100 Thieves closed out the day by defeating Counter Logic Gaming, which put the team in a three-way tie for 2nd place with Evil Geniuses and FlyQuest at a 10-8 record. Simultaneously, a three-way 8-10 tie for 6th place and the final seed in the 2020 LCS Spring Playoffs exists between Immortals, Dignitas, and Golden Guardians. Four tie-breaker matches will be played on Monday, March 30th to decide post-season seeding.

Cloud9 was locked into the 1st seed for the 2020 LCS Spring Playoffs well before it finished its split at 17-1, and FlyQuest, 100 Thieves, and Evil Geniuses will be fighting to avoid a first-round match against the North American favorite. Due to head-to-head records, FlyQuest will play against 100 Thieves first, with the loser of the match slotting into the 4th seed against C9. Then, the winner of the match will face off against Evil Geniuses to decide the 2nd and 3rd post-season seeds.

UPDATE, 3/30: The 1st seed, Cloud9, has priority selection of whether it will play against the 3rd or 4th seed in its first match in the 2020 LCS Spring Playoffs. The remaining potential opponent will play against the 2nd seed.

The other three-way tie has far larger implications. Immortals and Dignitas will play an elimination match, and the team left standing will face off against Golden Guardians for 6th place and the final seed in the 2020 LCS Spring Playoffs. The two unsuccessful teams will join 9th place TL and 10th place CLG on the outside of the post-season bracket. The unscathed team will fill out the bottom of the bracket in the new format alongside TSM.

The tie-breaker matches will begin at 12:00pm PDT on Monday, March 30. The LCS planned on playing the tie-breakers immediately after the conclusion of Sunday's scheduled matches if CLG had won its final match against 100 Thieves, but elected to push the games back a day due to the number of tie-breakers being extended to four due to the 100 Thieves victory.

UPDATE March 29, 7:43 PM PST

The LCS has tweeted out the schedule for tomorrow's games, which kick off at 12:00pm PDT.
