North America has been criticized by League of Legends analysts around the globe for a lack of flexibility in the Support position, especially in terms of willingness to be proactive. FlyQuest Support Lee "IgNar" Dong-geun flies in the face of this observation as the the most prevalent playmaker in the 2020 League of Legends Championship Series Spring Split. FlyQuest sits tied for 2nd place with TSM at 9-7, and in those 16 games, IgNar has played a league-leading 10 champions. 

IgNar's champin pool throughout the split has been impressive. The FlyQuest Support has four games on Rakan, two games on Nautilus, two games on Thresh, and his two games on Blitzcrank are the only two Blitzcrank performances in the LCS this season. Rounding out IgNar's champion pool is single games of Leona, Braum, Yuumi, Shen, Tahm Kench, and the only Alistar performance in the LCS this season.

North America plays more Tahm Kench than any other region at 35 games, but IgNar only contributes to just under 3% of the total. Nautilus is the second most played champion in the region at 33 games, to which IgNar only contributes 6%. His four games on Rakan are his most of any champion, which accounts 19% of The Charmer's games in the LCS this season to the tune of a 75% winrate.

IgNar's ability to keep things fresh in his champion picks adds flexibility to his proactive playmaking, and is a vital part of FLY's success this split. In order of frequency, Ignar's 3-1 record on Rakan is followed by 1-1 splits on Nautilus, Thresh, and Blitzcrank,  but the final third of his wins come from his single game performances on Alistar, Leona, and Yuumi.

IgNar's win on Nautilus was particularly impressive an early triple kill against Dignitas at the Dragon Pit led to an AP-building carry performance. IgNar's influx of gold on Nautilus due to  Jason "Wildturtle" Tran on 'fasting' Senna made it possible.

FlyQuest Mid Laner Tristan "PowerOfEvil" Schrage has had an outstanding split, and his previously built synergy with IgNar from their time on Misfits in 2017 has transformed the team after a 9th place finish last summer. After the win against Dignitas, POE told Inven Global's Nick Geracie that he read IgNar's intentions from the start: "IgNar is someone who really likes to be strong and engage, so I feel like he was going into the game knowing full well he was going to play AP Nautilus."

There are only two games left for each team to play in the Spring Split, but only Cloud9 has qualified for the 2020 LCS Spring Playoffs. However, a win in FlyQuest's next match against Team Liquid would punch the team's post-season ticket. Look for IgNar to take a proactive pick to try and keep the strong TL bot lane duo of AD Carry Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng and Support Jo "CoreJJ" Yong-in honest. 

If FlyQuest is to qualify for the post-season, whether it be through a win against Team Liquid, or in its final match against Golden Guardians, or as a result of tiebreakers at the end of the Spring Split, IgNar's versatility will be vital in the best-of-five series format for playoff matches.The format adjustments in the LCS 2020 Spring Playoffs feature a loser's bracket and double elimination, and the increase in potential games makes champion pool depth crucial for a deep post-season run.
