On the 24th (KST), Rogue Warriors announced that they have removed their Jungler, WeiYan, from the team due to match-fixing. WeiYan is a Jungler who was promoted into the LPL main roster from its academy team in the LDL, Rogue Warriors Shark, and debuted against OMG in Week 2 of the LPL. Rogue Warriors are currently 12th place in the 2020 LPL Spring standings with a 3-5 W/L record, and WeiYan’s last competitive match in the LPL was against Team WE on the 24th (KST), where the team was defeated with a set score of 1-2.

On this matter, Rogue Warriors commented, “Our investigations showed that WeiYan has conducted activities that heavily violate the team’s regulations. Based on the organization’s continued zero tolerance on such matters, we will terminate the contract with the jungler, effective immediately, with all relevant reports to be handed into the league”.

On this issue, WeiYan provided a statement on his Weibo, which starts off by saying that he lost a lot of money while playing poker with his friends, so he borrowed money from a certain individual. He was approached by the same person for match-fixing for multiple matches, and although he initially accepted the offer, he changed his mind, didn’t accept the money and rejected it. Although he accepts the full consequences of his actions and was right for the organization to remove him from the team, he claimed that he never participated in such actions.
