TSM is currently tied for 2nd place with FlyQuest in the 2020 League of Legends Championship Series Spring Split. TSM recently bested Cloud9, awarding the first place team its only loss of the season, and is now 8-6 with four games left to play.

TSM has been the most flexible team in the LCS, and while that hasn't always led to success, the team's priority on long-term flexibility over singular wins in a best-of-1 format is commendable. TSM is hitting its stride at the right time, and as long as the team is able to secure a likely seed in the 2020 LCS Spring Playoffs, TSM's willingness to experiment may pay off in dividends in the best-of-five series that await teams in the post-season.

Spring has been a particularly high point for TSM Top Laner Sergen "Broken Blade" Çelik. Jungler Joshua "Dardoch" Hartnett has continued his tendency of playing well to his top side, and Broken Blade has been able to showcase his ability on a variety of champions. In 14 games, Broken Blade has played 11 unique champions; the most of any player in the LCS.

Broken Blade is currently undefeated on his most played champion, Sett, with a record of 3-0, as well as his second most-played, Ornn, with a record of 2-0.  As far as the champions Broken Blade has played in single games, results have varied. His Kennen and Irelia were solid, and his Qiyana performance against Golden Guardians was an incredible carry game.

Broken Blade has been unable to get a win on the rest of his picks of Rumble, Gangplank, Akali, Aatrox, Kayle, and Mordekaiser. However, only on the latter two picks did Broken Blade struggle on individually, and even then, was not always in full control of his circumstances.

Results aside, Broken Blade's willingness to play a multitude of picks and TSM's willingness to do so is a refreshing look and puts the Top Laner at his strongest. Last summer, Broken Blade often was relegated to Aatrox duty, despite his best work being when he could mix his signature carries like Vladimir and Jayce.

North American League of Legends team are often criticized for unwillingness to take risks both in the draft and in gameplay.  TSM has had one of the best early games in the league, and has done an excellent job in enabling Broken Blade to play to his strength of versatility both in the draft and through the team's style of play.

Broken Blade will have to go through a gauntlet of formidable Top Laners in TSM's last four games in the LCS. Immortals' Paul "sOAZ" Boyer, Golden Guardians' Top Laner Kevin "Hauntzer" Yarnell, 100 Thieves' Kim "Ssumday" Chan-ho, and Dignitas' Heo "Huni" Seung-hoon are as formidable as they are experienced, and should Broken Blade triumph over his competition, TSM would theoretically enter playoffs with the strongest Top Laner in the post-season.
