On the 6th (KST), the last day of 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea Spring Split Round 1 was held. It was the last match before the season comes to a stop due to the coronavirus (COVID-19). On the day, Griffin met kt Rolster. KT was on a 3-game winning streak and they extended it to 4 by defeating Griffin 2-1.

Game 1 was slow. Although Griffin took the initiative by taking a kill at the 2-minute mark, but there weren’t any additional kill for 20 minutes afterward. Griffin was able to slay three dragons before KT attempted to strike back. Although KT secured the fourth dragon, Griffin won the teamfight. The gap became too big for KT to catch up and Griffin was able to close the game after another big teamfight win.

KT selected the fasting Senna-Tahm Kench bot lane in the second game. Griffin answered with Ezreal-Karma. It seemed that the fight in bot lane was important, but the game went more towards the jungle fight. Kim “bonO” Gi-beom’s Olaf was all over the place and with Lee “Kuro” Seo-haeng’s timely initiations, KT was able to destroy Griffin’s Nexus.

In Game 3, Maokai appeared in the LCK for the first time in 693 days. Griffin locked in Maokai in top lane. However, Maokai didn’t have a chance to shine as KT rolled their early advantage to a perfect game. In 29 minutes, KT seized the victory without conceding a single kill nor objective.
