Immortals Academy AD Carry Apollo "Apollo" Price is being promoted for week 6 of the 2020 League of Legends Championship Spring Split. Apollo will be taking the place of Johnny "Altec" Ru in joining the Immortals LCS squad, and also reunites with his longtime Support Nickolas "Hakuho" Surgent.

Apollo was the starting AD Carry for Echo Fox for the majority of the 2019 season, but was unable to find a LCS starting spot, and eventually signed with IMT Academy. The move was praised due to Apollo's familarity with Hakuho on Team Envy, Clutch Gaming, and Echo Fox, as well as Altec's absence from competitive League of Legends in 2019 after starting for Echo Fox for the majority of the 2018 NA LCS.

Immortals General Manager Keaton "Keaton" Cryer confirmed the move in a tweet, and also explained that the move was not related to Altec's performance in LCS. Altec has been performing admirably considering his long abscence from professional play, but Keaton explained that Immortals signed players to IMT Academy's roster with the intention of giving them time to start in the LCS should they prove worthy, especially due to the Spring Split no longer counting towards qualification for the 2019 World Championship.

Spring Split allows us to make these changes fluidly, as this is not necessarily a permanent switch," Keaton explained via twitter. "This off-season we intentionally signed players into Academy that we felt would be able to elevate to the LCS as they performed strongly in practice and competition."

Through 10 games in the 2020 LCS Spring Split, Immortals sits tied for 4th place with Dignitas at a 5-5 record. Apollo's 2020 LCS debut will be against Golden Guardians, and his second game on Sunday will be against Counter Logic Gaming.
