On the 19th (KST), T1 stopped DragonX’s winning streak in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea Spring Split. It was a close 2-1 victory for T1; the T1 players managed to keep their concentration until the end. After the match, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok joined the press room for an interview.

How do you feel about today’s win?

I think winning against DragonX, who had a good flow, would be meaningful [for] the future. The synergy between my teammates was also very good and I believe that will have a positive effect to improve ourselves.

The start of Game 3 was very difficult. How did you overcome the situation?

It wasn’t so bad that we weren’t able to come back, so we managed to recover. Our team’s style is being strong in the mid-late game so we believed each other while we played.

DragonX had a strong late-game comp. Even so, were you confident in winning late?

We also had a strong late-game comp called Faker-Teddy, so we played with trust.

You defeated two teams that are on winning streaks, Gen.G Esports and DragonX.

We won both games 2-1. I think our team is capable of being one of the best teams. There were some parts that we got lucky and our late-game concentration was effective.

Are you happier when you stop these winning streaks compared to winning normal games?

I feel more [accomplished] when I win against strong teams since it’s more valuable and important.

You re-signed with T1 for 3 years, until 2022. What was the main reason?

T1 treated me well so I made this decision. Apart from that, I’ve been playing in Korea and have become kind of a symbolic figure. I thought it would be positive [for] many people if I continue to play in T1. I’ll be in T1 for long and will be thinking of doing other things as well.

This is a first in Korea, becoming a partial owner as a franchise star of an organization.

I feel proud of being the first person as a franchise star of T1. I’m also proud that I’m walking the path that other players haven’t gone before. I’m looking forward to [making] many fans through what I do in the future.

You gained new nicknames like "Fakerowner" or "Fakershareholder" because of the announcement. What are your thoughts?

I’m not greedy for power or honor, but I do feel good. I’ll do my best to not become a kkondae. *laughs*

Lastly, a word to the fans?

T1 is near the top with a 4-1 record. I’d like to show good performances like our previous games in the games to come as well. I’ll do my best with the goal set as finishing 1st in the regular season for the Spring Split.

Thank you to the fans that were happy for me about re-signing with the team. I’ll do my best to give good times to the fans of this team.
