On the 14th (KST), in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea Spring Split, Griffin squeezed past APK Prince 2-1 in a very close match. After taking one game each, the two teams fought fiercely until the end, and Griffin was the wounded winner. Park “Viper” Do-hyeon and Choi “Sword” Sung-won were voted as players of the games and were interviewed afterward.
It was a hard victory. How do you feel?
Viper: I feel good that we ended up winning, but surely, what we showed today proved that we need improvements. We need to do better.
It’s the first POG for Sword.
Sword: I didn’t know that I would get the POG. I guess things just ended well.
(To Viper) You have been saying that Senna was good for a while, but today was the first Senna win in the LCK. Why do you think Senna was winless until now?
Viper: Actually, I don’t know. Maybe because I played her often? Senna is strong in the late game so as the game got longer, she naturally got stronger.
Game 3 was a dogfight. It wouldn’t have been easy to maintain your concentration. How did you manage to do so?
Sword: I don’t think it was a match that we did keep concentrated. I guess the team that was a bit better in the dogfight won.
Today, you played Ornn in all three games. How is Ornn?
Sword: The recent meta has long games and Ornn’s item upgrades are really good. Our team synergy isn’t on the right track yet, so I picked Ornn as a clear engage tool. I was hoping that he wouldn’t get banned and fortunately, he didn’t.
What did you talk about after the match?
Viper: I thought we were so bad so I said that we should make improvements and come back in better shape for the next match.
(To Sword) Lastly, how do you plan to play the rest of the season?
Sword: We’ve been showing bad performances from the beginning of the season; we’ll do our best to show better synergy.
