CBLoL and Circuitão have been heavily impacted by the floods in São Paulo and are postponed for one week, until the 29th of February. In only 48 hours, the city has had over 130 areas of severe flood, blocking the passage of vehicles - unless you have a boat available.

Gabriel "Kami" Bohm Santos, Mid Laner for paiN Gaming has shared the dystopian situation of the city in his Instagram stories and Twitter. “Today I woke up with a sea front view in my street. Except there’s cars all over the sea. I hope the CBLoL studio is ok.”

The Riot Games studio has suffered damages to their equipment and infrastructure, and due to the lack of resources available, the 7th and 8th matches of CBLoL will have to be postponed until they create a temporary structure to hold the tournaments. Today, Cacophonie, Esports team leader at Riot Games Brasil wrote:

“Hi guys.

I am Cacophonie, leader of the Riot Esports team in Brazil, and I would like to give visibility to the events resulting from the rains in São Paulo on February 9, in addition to sharing our plans for the return of CBLoL, of the Challenging Circuit and other Riot Games programs.

As reported, the impact of the rains on the west side of São Paulo, where the CBLoL studios are located, was very large, causing floods and several problems throughout the region. Our studio was severely affected, with damage to equipment and infrastructure.

We are already launching several recovery actions - from changing equipment to rebuilding program scenarios - but to get back to normal capacity we will need a few weeks. And this is more time than we would like, after all CBLoL and Circuitão cannot stop!

We will need to have a week-long break, so we will postpone the 7th and 8th rounds of CBLoL (which would take place on the 15th and 16th of February) and the 5th and 6th rounds of the Circuitão (which would take place on the 17th and 18th of February) . We will use this period and Carnival to create a temporary structure to hold the tournaments, and we will return to active on February 29 with CBLoL. The Challenging Circuit and the After Nexus will also return on March 2nd.

The CBLoL team has already recovered from the scare and is ready for work, and on behalf of it I thank the community for all the support we received. We are very motivated to bring back CBLoL, Circuitão and all the content that we are so proud to produce every week for you.

We'll be back soon!

A big hug,

Cacophonie.”
