The Overwatch League 2020 season has run into an unexpected snag in the form of the Coronavirus outbreak in China, and as a result, all homestands taking place in China throughout February and March will be cancelled and re-scheduled at a later date.  Guangzhou Charge had three homestands scheduled through the first two months of OWL 2020, with Shanghai Dragons and Hangzhou Spark each hosting one homestand, respectively.

The Overwatch league announced the news in a tweet on the evening of Wednesday, January 29, which reads as follows:

"We have decided to cancel our February and March matches in China in order to protect the health and safety of our players, fans, and staff. We hope fans have a safe and happy Lunar New Year, and we remain incredibly excited to play Overwatch League matches in China later this season. We'll share more information about when and where the matches will take place at a later date. Thank you for your support and understanding!"

This is not the first instance of the recent Coronavirus outbreak affecting esports competitions held in Asia. China's League of Legends Pro League had to suspend its 2020 Spring Split within the past week, and League of Legends Champions Korea may begin its Spring Split with closed audience.
