According to a Weibo post translated by Chinese esports journalist, Ran, the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) will be delayed until further notice. They are currently on break for the Lunar New Year, but the break will continue as long as the threat of the virus remains.
The LPL already has a hectic schedule, playing games all seven days of the week, so this delay adds further stress to the teams. Inven Global is working on the story and will update upon reception of more information.
UPDATE: The LPL English Twitter has also announced the delay, but have not given details on a possible start date. There was an earlier rumor of a possible delay until April, however, most of those specifics have been removed from Twitter. Ran tweeted an additional Tweet stating the "General Administration of Sport has advised to pause all sports events before April," which likely includes the LPL. We will update with further information upon confirmation.
