Later this week, the LCS and LEC will finally kick off. The official North American and European League of Legends competitions host their first matches this weekend, looking to quench the thirst of LoL esports fans. Most fans can watch those matches on Twitch and YouTube, or via the LoL esports website. Since those sites aren't available in China, however, Riot decided to partner with a Chinese platform: Huya.
Huya already distributed the broadcasts of all LCK matches exclusively on its platform, and since the partnership seems to have gone well, Riot is expanding the partnership. Huya will be the only Chinese streaming platform with official broadcasts of all the four major League of Legends competitions.
In June 2019, Huya partnered with Team Liquid to broadcast their players' livestreams in China. The partnership involved some real-time translations of the ongoing streams, allowing Chinese fans to interact with their favorite Team Liquid players despite a possible language barrier. Whether Huya will provide unique features for the LCS and LCS broadcasts too, is unkown.
