While many teams in the Overwatch League made roster moves in preparation of the 2020 season, the current world champions, San Francisco Shock, waited for the perfect opportunity to make an announcement. They announced a new DPS player to their currently stacked lineup, Seonchang "ANS" Lee.
The first tease came earlier today via Twitter. This tease had different 3-letter combinations, which led to many speculations in their replies. Reasonable predictions was Min-soo "SeoMinSoo" Seo which could be shortened to SMS, Jeong-ho "MCD" Lee, and even Félix "xQc" Lengyel — albeit, the latter would be farfetched.
An hour later from that tweet, the Shock made their official announcement of ANS to the team. For those unfamiliar with ANS, he was a former DPS for BlossoM and was retired for the entirety of this year. In the announcement video, ANS spoke in both Korean and English stating that the Shock is his favorite team to watch last season and is excited. He also stated he is looking forward to meeting all the fans during the Shock's homestand next season.
ANS will join a deep Shock DPS lineup consisting of current 2019 Overwatch League MVP Jay "sinatraa" Won, along with Minho "Architect" Park and Nam-joo "Striker" Kwon. The 19-year-old DPS has the opportunity to step up and learn from the best players, team, and coaches with the San Francisco Shock. If ANS can unleash his potential next season, the Shock can be an unstoppable monster. Next season's Overwatch League is set to premiere on February 8, 2020.
