This is the full text of CSL's 8/29/2018 press release.
This school year, CSL will be celebrating our 10th Anniversary! We're back with more games and more scholarship prizing than ever! In Spring 2009, collegiate esports was born when CSL hosted the first ever collegiate competition, featuring 25 schools competing in StarCraft: Brood War. This year, we're featuring leagues for Fortnite, League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, DOTA 2, StarCraft 2, Rocket League, Madden 19, Smash: Melee, and Smash: Ultimate, bringing together tens of thousands of collegiate gamers from across North America to compete.

Fortnite
Grab a duo partner and get ready to drop into the fray. We've got multiple competitive options for Fortnite players throughout the year, with over $40,000 in prizing available. This is our first foray into Fortnite and we're jumping in head first. Let's build an awesome community together!
PATH TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP
The League
Registration opens September 1 and closes October 6. Teams are placed into a round-robin group stage and will compete in weekly matches.
Top teams in the Spring Semester advance to a double elimination playoff bracket. The top 8 teams will advance to the Championship!
Tournaments
Stage 1 will feature 8 qualifying tournaments starting in October. Each tournament will be a single elimination bracket. The top 4 teams from each qualifier will advance to Stage 2.
Stage 2 takes place in the Spring Semester and will be a 32 team double elimination tournament. The top 4 teams from Stage 2 will advance to the Championship.
LAN Qualifiers
Throughout the school year, CSL will co-host four regional LAN events in conjunction with esports clubs across the country.
Each regional LAN will feature an open registration Fortnite tournament. Any college teams who can drive down will be able to enter! The winner of each tournament will earn a trip to the Championship.

CS: GO
We're back with another awesome CS: GO Season! This year will feature two divisions: Varsity (former Division 1) and Junior Varsity (former Division 2). Varsity is open to only one team per school and features a $30,000 prize, while Junior Varsity is open to an unlimited number of teams per school and product prizing! We will once again be working with CEVO on our league infrastructure, and hope to make some significant improvements to the system to make the life for coordinators easier, and provide other fun stats and info for league matches.

DOTA 2

SMASH MELEE / ULTIMATE
After the success of our first Smash Circuit, we're coming back with a new focus and a new game. This December, Smash Ultimate is being released and we will run a Circuit for both Melee and the new Smash Ultimate. Each game will feature a $15,000 prize pool. The Circuit itself will follow a similar format but start in January to give players time to adjust to the new game.
CIRCUIT INFORMATION
Smash Melee
The Melee Circuit will feature 16 local qualifiers held throughout the United States and Canada. The winners of each qualifier will earn travel stipends and advance to their respective divisional.
There will be 4 divisional tournaments held in conjunction with collegiate Smash clubs across North America. The winning teams from each divisional will earn paid trips to Nationals.
Nationals will once again be held at Shine in August 2019!

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
We're excited to bring multiple League of Legends opportunities for all teams/players. For teams that are competing in Riot's College League of Legends season, we will be hosting a PRE-SEASON league to get teams much-needed practice/warm-ups for the real league that begins in January. We will also be running our Junior Varsity and Junior Varsity 2 (Gold-league and lower) league for people to compete in! Our Junior Varsity league features a $10,000 prize pool!

ROCKET LEAGUE
We're happy to announce our entry into the Rocket League world! We ran some test tournaments this summer and are very thankful to the community for their feedback and help. We are going to run tournaments in the Fall semester to supplement the official CRL. We know that folks are always looking for more ways to play, and we want to provide those opportunities! In the Spring Semester, we'll host our first RL League with a $10,000 prize pool!

Fall Tournaments
We'll host four tournaments for collegiate Rocket League players this Fall Semester. Each tournament will be double elimination, open to any collegiate players.
Each tournament will feature a $900 prize pool, with $600 going to the winning team, and $300 going to the second place finisher.
Spring League
Registration for the league opens after the conclusion of CRL in mid-November. The league itself will begin in January and feature 7 weeks of group stage games.
The top teams will advance to a playoff bracket, with the top 4 teams advancing to the live Championship.

MADDEN
Back for our third year, we're excited to bring you all Madden in the Fall Semester for the first time! We're excited to be involved in Madden and want to continue to see the competitive and collegiate community grow. The competitive Madden season is going to be bigger and better than ever and we are going to be a part of it. This year we have $10,000 up for grabs between our XBOX and PlayStation 4 leagues, double the amount of last year's league.

Leagues
This year we are running a Madden league for both Xbox and PS4. The CSL league will use Madden's H2H mode. Players will register teams and be placed into groups based on their region.
The top finishers from the group stage advance to a double elimination playoff bracket. From there, the top players will qualify for a LIVE Championship event!
Schedule
League registration opens September 1 and is available to all college students in good standing. Registration for the league ends October 6.
League play begins October 13 and runs through February. Playoffs begin March, with the Championship in April.

Starcraft 2
To celebrate the anniversary of CSL, we're coming back to the StarCraft world! Our StarCraft league will follow the same format as always and feature a $5,000 prize pool! We hope that in celebration of the nostalgia of both 10 years of CSL and 20 years of StarCraft, we'll see many more teams duking it out.

We're back with the smaller proleague format: with 3 1v1 and 1 2v2 game plus a potential ACE match. 4 players required for each team.
Round robin group stage for the regular season leading into a single elimination playoff bracket.
Schedule

League play begins October 13 and runs through Fall and Spring Semesters. The playoffs begin in March.
