Riot Games has announced that Linkin Park, Ashnikko, Mars Atlas of Forts, and Tiffany Aris will perform at the opening ceremony of the 2024 League of Legends World Championship. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2, at London's O2 Arena, starting at 7 a.m. PST (2 p.m. GMT).
Linkin Park will take the stage with their 2024 Worlds anthem "Heavy Is The Crown." Released on Sept. 24, the song has become the largest anthem debut in League of Legends history, amassing over 360 million global audio streams and more than 57 million views on YouTube. The track celebrates T1's historic victory at Worlds 2023, their first since 2016, and pays homage to London's rich history.
Ashnikko is set to perform "Paint The Town Blue," a song from the highly anticipated second season of the animated series Arcane. Released on Sept. 5, the track features in the show's main trailer, which has garnered over 40 million views on YouTube. This performance will give fans a preview of Arcane season two before it debuts on Netflix on Nov. 9.
Mars Atlas of Forts and Tiffany Aris will deliver a live rendition of "Still Here," featured in the League of Legends 2024 season cinematic released on Jan. 10. The cinematic became the most-viewed video on the game's YouTube channel within a 24-hour period and currently has over 124 million views.
The League of Legends World Championship, known as Worlds, is the pinnacle of competitive play for the popular online game. Top teams from nine regions compete over three months for the world champion title. The 2023 finals set a new record as the most-watched esports event of all time.
