A media outlet from Bang’s hometown(Kangwon-Do, Hong-Chun District), ‘Kangwon-Ilbo’, reported that Bang donated 5,000 pieces of *Yeontan (Korean Coal Briquettes) to aid those who are in need.
This wasn’t the first time that Bang has done such a deed; as he has been - for a long while - using portions of his prize winnings as donations to those who are in need. Bang’s sibling, Min-Sik Bae, is also known to contribute and donate ramen and money.
Both Bang and his little brother have received an appreciation plaque from the ‘Hong-Chun district’ to honor their deeds.
A governor from Hong-Chun, Seung-Rak Noh, commented, “Joon-Sik and Min-Sik’s way of sharing and spreading their warmth is truly beautiful. In order for Joon-Sik to stand tall and strong as a professional gamer, our district will make sure to cheer for him."
Bang’s team, SK Telecom T1, recently earned the accomplishment of taking 2nd place in the 2017 League of Legends World Championship.
