Gen.G Goes 6–0; Dplus KIA and Hanwha Life Esports Form Three‑Way LCK Lead

Gen.G extended its perfect start to the 2025 LCK regular season by winning both of its Week 3 matches, remaining the only undefeated team at 6–0. Dplus KIA and Hanwha Life Esports also went 2–0 in Week 3, moving to 5–1 and forming a three‑way race at the top as the first round reaches its midway point.

Over April 16–20 at the LCK Arena in Jongno District, Gen.G overcame BNK Fearx and OKSavings Bank BriOn to maintain its solo lead. After dropping the opening game against Fearx, Gen.G rallied to claim the next two and secure a 2–1 series victory. A clean sweep of BriOn followed, highlighted by standout mid‑lane play that carried Gen.G to its sixth straight win.

Dplus KIA bounced back from its lone loss to Gen.G in Week 2 by defeating DN Freecs and DRX. Top laner Jeon "Siwoo" Si-woo delivered the season’s first pentakill in a late‑game clash with Freecs, helping Dplus KIA to a 2–1 set win over DRX and sole possession of second place on a +7 set differential.

Hanwha Life Esports, coming off an opening loss to Gen.G, recorded consecutive 2–0 sweeps against DRX and Nongshim RedForce. Mid‑laner Kim "Zeka" Geon-woo secured the league’s second pentakill on Azir during the RedForce series, reinforcing HLE’s resurgence and matching Dplus KIA with a 5–1 record.

Week 3 also featured landmark career achievements. Han "Peanut" Wang-ho became the second jungler in LCK history to reach 500 wins when HLE closed out its series with DRX. Meanwhile, Dplus KIA’s Heo "ShowMaker" Su hit 600 career sets played in his team’s victory over DRX, becoming the tenth player to reach the milestone and the fastest among his peers. These performances underscore the depth of talent shaping the early stages of the 2025 season.
