Riot Games Unveils Cyber City Update for Teamfight Tactics Ahead of Beta Launch

Riot Games today unveiled Teamfight Tactics: Cyber City, the latest update to its popular auto battler, set to hit the Public Beta Environment on March 18 ahead of its live launch on April 2. The new update transports players to a futuristic metropolis where diverse factions vie for control in high-octane, strategic battles.

The Cyber City update introduces a host of fresh gameplay elements including new champions, traits, and mechanics. Notably, players can expect innovative “Hacks” that alter key game features—from Opening Encounters and Shops to Orbs and Carousels—injecting a dose of unpredictability into every match. Riot described these changes as an opportunity for players to experience “happy little hackciddents” that maintain balance while keeping the gameplay dynamic.

Among the new champions making their debut are Aurora and Kobuko, who join returning favorites like Brand, Aphelios, and Shaco. Cyber City also brings forward a revamped mechanic with new traits such as Street Demon, Anima Squad, and Golden Ox that reward tactical placement and in-match decisions. In addition, the update introduces Cyberbosses, a Yordle faction that grows more formidable as battles progress.

Riot Games also is emphasizing customization in Cyber City with a selection of new cosmetic options for Portals and Arenas.  The update comes at a time when the Teamfight Tactics esports scene continues to expand. Riot is positioning Cyber City as the gateway for the next tier of competitive play, with revised tournament structures that promise to elevate both the player and spectator experience. The developer aims to refresh the gameplay experience for veterans and newcomers alike in its ever-evolving strategy title.
