Akatsuki Games Inc. announced Tuesday that its free-to-play action role-playing game TRIBE NINE will launch globally on Feb. 20, 2025, UTC. The announcement came during the TRIBE NINE Ver 1.0 Release Preview Showcase, where the developer also debuted a full-length release trailer and detailed several new features.
Set in a dystopian Neo Tokyo, TRIBE NINE follows a group of young rebels who oppose the authoritarian rule of a masked figure known as Zero. The game features dynamic three-person team battles, a signature battle mode called “XB (Extreme Baseball)” presented in high-impact 3D cutscenes, and a 2D pixel-style overworld designed for exploration and side quests.
During the showcase, Akatsuki Games highlighted voice work from talents including Yuko Natsuyoshi, Masaya Fukunishi, Tomoyo Kurosawa, and Vtuber Asumi Sena (VSPO!), which the company said adds depth to the game’s narrative. In addition, the event introduced a “Countdown to Launch Sweepstakes” in which fans sharing the trailer on X (formerly Twitter) could win prizes such as an Amazon gift card, an iPhone 16, a game controller, or gift cards valued at up to $100.
TRIBE NINE is a collaborative project between Too Kyo Games, led by Kazutaka Kodaka, and Akatsuki Games. The franchise extends beyond gaming to include an anime series and a WEBTOON comic series. Pre-registration for the game is now available on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store, with additional details provided on the official website and social media channels.
Akatsuki Games, known for titles such as Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle and Romancing SaGa Re; Universe, said the company is committed to delivering a high-quality gaming experience for a global audience.
