Ancient Troll Quint and Ogre King Muraka made their debut in Black Desert Online’s Korean server today as the new patch was introduced. The two new raid bosses appear every Friday night in ten random servers excluding Olvia, spawning in the same server at the same time. There is no penalty to death if you die while fighting against them, and they disappear after 30 minutes if no one attacks them. What loots and rewards they give are yet to be figured out.
Quint the Ancient Troll appears on Quint Hill, as his name also indicates, in the form of a petrified statue which occasionally comes back to life 15 minutes after a notification. A lot of characters, especially melee characters, will find themselves naturally attacking Quint’s legs because of his immense height. Doing so will not stack up any damage to him, but is a necessary step to shut him down, because you have to make him kneel in order to actually deal damage. Once his legs have taken enough damage, he will kneel down so that the players can do actual damage.
His attack speed, according to PA’s official raid boss guide, is so slow that players will be able to dodge after they actually see him attack. However, his attack speed and damage builds up over time as his HP decreases, so you should still exercise caution.
Muraka is an Ogre King that has black crystals growing all over his body. He dwells deep inside Mansha forest and boasts a power stronger than any ogre you have met before. His attack speed is also slow like Quint’s, but his frequent use of AoE skills makes it harder for players to avoid being hit. His damage and attack speed are also negatively proportional to his HP just like Quint, which PA warns players of, saying that it “can instantly kill a player with IV grade armor.”
Just like with Quint, you should attack his legs first to bring him down and then inflict actual damage.
