On the 16th (KST), DAMWON Gaming has announced that they have re-signed Lee “Flame” Ho-jong as their top laner.
Flame first came into the scene as the top laner for Azubu Blaze. In the early days of his career, he showed absolute dominance in the top lane, where he would outfarm the enemy top laner by at least 100 cs, so a term called ‘The Flame Horizon’ was created by the casters, DoA and Montecristo.
However, his tenures with Longzhu Gaming in the LCK, LGD Gaming in the LPL, and with Immortals and Flyquest in the LCS were far from being successful. Then, on February of 2019, Flame joined DAMWON Gaming, where despite being a team that was only promoted into the LCK the same year, performed really well at Rift Rivals and at the 2019 LoL World Championship.
Despite having one of the best top laners in the scene, Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon, DAMWON looks to further fortify their roster with Flame. With DAMWON’s much deserved success in 2019, they are preparing to achieve even more in 2020.
