Last week, Riot announced Riot Forge, a new publishing portion of their company that partners with outside game developers to expand on the League universe through completable story games. Then during The Game Awards, they announced the first new game to come from that, Ruined King.
The game was developed by Airship Syndicate, an independent game studio and creators of Darksiders. Ruined King will follow the events of The Burning Tides, a League story-event based around Gangplank a few years ago. Riot states Ruined King is an RPG with a "new twist on turn-based combat."
Thresh is the narrator in the announcement video, he and promises to his king that they will find revenge as he releases four souls from his lantern. The game seems to revolve around their story and will feature both Bilgewater and The Shadow Isles.
With it, they also released a new website to stay up to date on the game's development. There is no specified release date yet, but they do claim an eventual release on both PC and console. Follow here for more Ruined King and Riot Forge news.
