On February 4th (KST), bbq Olivers continued their winning streak after defeating Kongdoo Monster with a 2-0 record and placed themselves in the third place.
Jongseop "Totoro" Eun was support for the match, but his damage output against KDM was beyond that of an ordinary support. He told us that he has still has a long way to go, but he will definitely be someone to look out for.
Here is our interview with Totoro after the match.
Congratulations for being in the third place! How are you feeling right now?
Honestly, I didn't think we'll do this well at the early season. I think it's because we feel more responsible and that we have to put in more effort. However, we didn't play against powerhouses yet, so it's too early to say that we will continue to do well in future.
What is the team mood like? Is it good because you are on a winning streak?
We enjoy doing scrims more than before, and coaching staffs are always ready to give us feedback about our weaknesses. I feel like we have become more professional, and I love it.
Where do you rank yourselves among the botlane duos in the LCK?
It depends. Although we may be in the third place right now, I think our botlane duo is in about fifth to sixth place among LCK teams. I feel that we have a long way to go, so we'll keep practicing hard and show how we are improving over time.
Where do you think will end up by the end of the Spring Split?
I personally expect us to be in the fifth place. We are getting better as time goes on, so I think we'll do well enough to be in the fifth place by the end of the Spring Split. However, we could aim a bit higher if we turn out to be better than I thought.
Okay, here's the question that we all wanted to ask - Do you really eat chickens every day after being sponsored by Genesis BBQ?
That's right. After defeating MVP, the chairman gave us 50 vouchers worth about 9 dollars each and some bonus as well. We were on Lunar New Year holiday at that time, so we eat fried chickens every night ever since coming back from holiday. I think we'll eat fried chickens every day until we run out of vouchers. I really like Golden Olive Chicken™. It's unlike every other fried chicken that I've eaten.
Your next match will be against Longzhu Gaming. How are you going to prepare for it?
Their botlane is very strong, and it would be a lie to say that I'm not worried. However, we've learned something from our loss against KT Rolster, so we'll make sure to do our best to learn something from the match while winning the match as well.
Since you are not very well-known yet, we'll give you a special opportunity to talk about your strengths. Fire away!
Our team doesn't have a designated shotcaller. Instead, we share information with each other and make plays accordingly. When we cannot agree on something, I tend to be the one who organizes suggestions coherently. My early game is a bit weak, but my middle and late game more than make up for it. I focus a lot on positioning and vision control. Also, I always think before making a move.
We'll keep those in mind. Do you have anything else that you want to share?
I want to thank my family, our fans and ESC staffs. Also, I would like to thank our sponsors - Maxtill, GGtics, Sta1.com, Club-pass and Genesis bbq. I promise that I'll do even better next time!
