The newest org in the LCS franchise, Evil Geniuses, has had a busy off-season, needing to acquire ten players and a full coaching and management staff all from scratch. With just a mid laner left to sign for the main roster, EG has announced Heo "Irean" Yeong-Cheol as their head coach. 

Irean was most recently on CLG, working as a strategic coach, under head coach Weldon "Weldon" Green. Their first split didn't produce strong results, but they bounced back in the summer, placing third in both the regular season and the playoffs. 

Before CLG, Irean spent a couple years in Europe, on teams like Supermassive and Vitality. His time on Supermassive even led the team to an MSI and Worlds appearance. He has been coaching since 2012, though, starting originally in Korea and Vietnam. 

This move makes sense with the Evil Geniuses brand, with Irean having been "the brain of the operation" back on CLG. More teams are starting to have one strong mind for the game and one strong leader, and Irean fills in the big brain portion well.
