On the 26th (KST), T1 announced that they have signed Kim Jeong-soo as their new head coach.
Kim Jeong-soo started coaching in the LoL scene in 2014. Since then, he has coached many different teams such as Samsung Galaxy, Longzhu Gaming, Dignitas, Invictus Gaming, and DAMWON Gaming. Especially in Invictus Gaming, he won the 2018 LoL World Championship.
On joining T1, Kim said, "I'm very proud to have joined T1. It's an opportunity to step forward." He also shared his thoughts about the directions of how he plans to lead the team. "Although mechanics and macro are both important. I want to make the players' mechanics don't stop at an individual level, but that it could be transitioned to team plays. I'll be motivating the veterans to seek their mindsets when they first began and plant confidence in the younger players."
Lastly, he spoke about his goal and left a short message to kkOma. "Obviously, as I joined T1, my goal is to win the championship. I respect kkOma. I may be a bit pressured to follow what he has done, but we had dinner together and he gave me lots of advice. I'd like to thank him."
After announcing that multiple players are free agents, T1 has yet to announce their roster. Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and Park “Teddy” Jin-seong’s contracts haven’t expired yet, but Kim “Clid” Tae-min left the team, joining Gen.G, and Kim “Khan” Dong-ha is likely to leave as well.
