Kang ‘GorillA’ Beom-hyun, the former Support player for Misfits Gaming, has joined SANDBOX Gaming.
On the 21st (KST), SANDBOX announced on their official Twitter that GorillA has joined SANDBOX. After recruiting the former Bot laner from Jin Air Green Wings, Route, they looked to strengthen their bot lane with the addition of GorillA. On Twitter, SANDBOX has welcomed GorillA by saying, “We’d like to welcome the veteran Support player, GorillA.”
GorillA has spent his golden days with Najin, ROX Tigers, and DragonX (formerly known as Kingzone). With 3 LCK titles under their belt and a semifinal finish at Worlds, he’s one of the most seasoned veterans in the industry. He’s a player especially adept at building teamwork and his sociability within the team.
He’s had a steep decline in skill in 2018 Summer, and had a rough season in 2019 with Misfits Gaming in the LEC. However, after returning to Korea, he’s shown much stability in solo queue, and garnered much interest from the Korean organizations. Even amongst pro players, his reputation has gone up, in which they’ve stated that it seems he’s back in his prime form.
The captain of SANDBOX, Cho ‘Joker’ Jae-eup has been part of the starting roster in 2019. With the addition of GorillA to SANDBOX’s roster, it seems that they will be competing for the spot on the starting roster.
