When Wangho 'Peanut' Han of SK Telecom T1 started to stream, nobody expected the stream to be ruined by donations from a racist troll.
On February 1st (KST), Peanut started to stream on Twitch along with his SKT T1 teammates (except Faker). After a few hours, Peanut was greeted by a message saying that someone donated $2,748 to his stream, and it was followed up with several donations worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars, adding up to over $10,000. Shocked by the large donations, Peanut seemed distracted from his game.
It didn't get any better for Peanut when the chat erupted as people realized that the donator's nickname - j3wkiller - could be interpreted as a blatantly racist nickname, 'Jew Killer'. As 'j3wkiller' continued to disrupt the stream through donation alerts, Peanut eventually turned off the stream, ending about two hours earlier than his teammates.
With SKT T1 players starting to stream on Twitch, fans are hoping that other teams in the LCK will follow suit and start streaming as well. However, this event caused the fans to think about how the donated money will be used, and what to do about the possiblility of trolls ruining the streams.
