In a flurry of announcements on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 commemorating the 10th birthday of League of Legends, Riot Games gave a behind the scenes peak into the early developments of Arcane. Sources close to Riot claim that the animated show has been ordered for five seasons.

In Riot's most ambitious non-gaming project yet, Arcane will focus upon the dawn of League of Legends and the story of Runeterra. The Riot Pls teaser included Rioters working on 3D models, meaning the animation is done with computer graphics and has a seamless look after being blended with 2D.
