On the 12th, SK Telecom T1 took down Fnatic in the very first game of the group stages in the 2019 LoL World Championship. By answering with Kayle to Fnatic’s Garen-Yuumi bot lane, SKT have dominated the game with aggression right from the get-go and showed why they’re the 3-time World Champions.
SKT’s legendary mid laner, Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok joined Laure Valée and Jeesun Park in the post-game interview to share his thoughts about their victory.
Congratulations on the victory. How does it feel to be back at Worlds?
I was disappointed that I missed Worlds last year, so I feel really good to be back and win the first game of the groups as well.
For those that didn’t get to watch LCK this year, can you tell us how your team evolved since MSI?
After we lost to G2, we’ve tried many different strategies, and we’ve learned a lot from their diverse playstyles.
Most of the EU fans expected you to be back, and they can’t wait to see the EU teams play against you, so can you say something to them in English?
“Hello, EU fans. I’m back.”
