LA Gladiators' rOar Has a Message for the Vancouver Titans

The Los Angeles Gladiators had a challenge in their first-round match against the Hangzhou Spark. For one, they have not won a playoff match until tonight. Chang-hoon "rOar" Gye helped in the victory against the Spark to advance in the next round against the Vancouver Titans. rOar spoke with Inven Global about the close match against the Spark, preparing for the playoffs, and his thoughts on the Titans.

This match against the Spark was very close. What does it feel like to come away with the win against the Spark?

The Spark played really well today. For us, we kept talking to each other throughout the match. I feel really happy to win that match.

Why was the Spark so difficult to play against today?

At the beginning of the match, the Spark was playing kind of passive so we lead the first few games. Towards the end of the match, the Spark started playing more aggressive. It was a challenge for us to adapt.

What are your thoughts on your first-ever playoff game in the Overwatch League?

I had a bit of pressure. This game against the Spark was difficult and it was a long match. I talked a lot with my teammates during the match and they were able to calm me down as the match went on.

How did you prepare yourself for the new meta with Sigma plus playoffs?

This new meta is similar to GOATS, we had to communicate with each other a lot and be in sync with our abilities.

Was it a huge adjustment coming from the Stage 4 meta to this one?

In Stage 4, tanks played a huge role in the meta. But, in this new meta, the DPS role plays a bigger role than tanks.

Your next match coming up is against the Vancouver Titans. What are your thoughts playing against them?

The Titans are not the best when you talk about all the playoff teams. If we practice, prepare, and rest, we can beat them.

How do you prepare against that match, especially since Bumper is out and TiZi is in?

I am confident I'll beat them.

What things do you need to improve on yourself heading into the next match?

I don't think there's much for me to improve on, but when I'm ordering the team during fights, I have to be more careful when it comes to communication.

One last thing before we head out for the night, is there anything that you want to say to the Titans?

Today, we had a hard time winning the game. However, we learned and adapted fast so watch out, Titans.
