The following is a press release provided to InvenGlobal and has been published verbatim.
North America's National PUBG League (NPL) begins the third phase of its competition leading up to the PUBG Global Championship. The top five teams in the league at the end of Phase 3 will qualify for the PUBG Global Championship.
For the next four weeks, the best PUBG teams throughout North America will engage in six matches a day every Saturday and Sunday. The four consecutive weekends of matches will start on Saturday and Sunday starting at 2pm PT, and will take place over the duration of six matches.
Phase 3 also includes the NPL Contenders, the North Amerian relegation league that will also run for the next four weeks, with weekly online matches starting every Tuesday at 5pm PT. The teams will be fighting for the chance to face off against established NPL teams for a spot on the NPL roster in Phase 1 of next year’s NPL cycle.
New to Phase 3 is the addition of the Southeast Asia-inspired Sanhok map to the PUBG Esports map pool, giving the 16 NPL teams a new environment to master in competition. Phase 3 will not feature the NPL Royale, and instead, the corresponding prize pool will be re-distributed throughout the entire NPL competition.
The final stretch of competition is set to begin on Saturday, September 7, and will lead up to the PUBG Global Championship Grand Finals that will take place in Oakland, California on November 23 and 24.
