A  League of Legends mobile Facebook group has been the source of the first evidence of the long-rumored Mobile port of Riot's hit MOBA.

The stills and video were originally taken from Chinese media and posted to facebook by one of the group's contributors. While Riot Games has not publicly confirmed anything about the long-anticipated mobile port for League of Legends, the news breaking in China, where Riot's parent company Tencent is located, add to its credibility. Also, if one just looks at the footage, it's hard to deny the trademark aesthetic of Summoner's Rift being played through fluidly on the mobile device.

In addition, releasing League of Legends on Mobile would fall right in line with the most recent post on the official League of Legends website. Head of Global Esports John Needham wrote that the game would be "more accessible to fans across the globe." It's hard to argue there is an easier, more efficient, wider-reaching method than bringing League of Legends to the Mobile gamer.

Other popular major titles, such as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite, have already made the jump to mobile as technological limitations have been further extended, and even offer cross-compatibility with other platforms in certain instances.

Mobile gaming and esports are a niche subsection of the industry, but one that is brimming with potential due to its accessibility and increased closing of the gap between mobile and console quality.

For Riot Games and League of Legends, there's no better time than as soon as possible, so look for the developer to potentially make some official announcements in the coming weeks. We will continue to update this story as information becomes available.
