On the 18th (KST), the opening ceremony of WCG 2019 was held in Xi’an, China. The event hadn’t been held for six years.

Xi’an has become a new mecca for China’s IT industry; the reason the event is being held there. Xi’an had been the capital of several ancient countries of China and is now developing again. As WCG had its glorious days in the past and coming back, Xi’an was chosen to bring more sights and amusement to those who visit. Xi’an also gave enthusiastic support.

The opening ceremony commenced with a video of the history of the WCG from 2001 to 2019 like a panorama. The main players of each country entered in line and with Chairman of WCG Committee, Kwon Hyuk-bin’s opening speech, the event announced its start.
