On Thursday afternoon, Twitch announced the headlining performer for their annual TwitchCon event in San Diego, Lil Nas X. The 20-year-old artist, whose full name is Montero Hill, has gained global popularity in the past year for his hit county rap single "Old Town Road."

TwitchCon, held at the San Diego Convention Center, will be taking place from September 27-29. The event, first held in 2015, brings tens of thousands of fans, community members and streamers who are passionate about the streaming platform together.

Lil Nas X took to his social media accounts with over five million followers to share the news.

Twitch's official Twitter account put out a message saying that the artist would be talking about the event and having a listening party on Imane "Pokimane" Anys' channel Thursday afternoon at 1 pm PDT.
