Overwatch League team New York Excelsior has collaborated with ice cream company Salt & Straw to create a limited-edition custom flavor. "Lower East Fried", a Korean fried chicken ice cream, will be available for fans attending OWL on June 21, 2019 as part of NYXL's "Team of the Day" event. 

The ice cream has a salted sweet-cream base, candied fried chicken skins and ribbons of spicy, homemade gochujang caramel sauce. Candied fried chicken skins adorn the ice cream flavor as a textural addition.

"I'm pretty sure this is the first fried chicken flavor of ice cream in the entire world," said Salt & Straw Co-Founder and Head Ice Cream Maker Tyler Malek. "I'd have to fact check that to be sure."  

NYXL also collaborated with Salt & Straw on a video explaining the creative process behind "Lower East Fried" as well as several NYXL players trying the ice cream for the first time. "The flavor reminds me of Korea," said NYXL DPS Kim "Libero" Hae-seong. 

Fans heading to Overwatch League this Friday can get their hands on the brand new flavor in support of New York's first esports team, but they better arrive quickly. Some have already shown up!
