SANDBOX Gaming and Hanwha Life Esports clashed on the 6th of June (KST), in the 2019 LCK Summer Split. SANDBOX Gaming defeated Hanwha Life Esports 2-0 and registered their first win of the season. In the two games, top laner Park “Summit” Woo-tae and mid laner Kim “Dove” Jae-yeon showed good performances and were voted as MVPs.

It’s been a while since you played in LoL Park. How was it?

Summit: Since it has been a while, I was a bit nervous, but it was okay.

(To Dove) Since you played against Hanwha Life Esports, who you had good results during the spring, you would have been confident. How was it?

Dove: We were confident, but since it’s opening day for us, I was really nervous. It’s a relief that we ended up on top.

How did you prepare for the summer?

Summit: We focused on the details and teamfights.

Sylas was amazing today. You widened the advantage over the opponent from early. Is it champion difference or did you get more aggressive over the break?

Summit: I had the upper hand in picks, and I also did play aggressive which was effective.

Can you explain a bit on the solo kill in Game 1?

Summit: It just happened to happen. I think I did well. What I remember is I just pressed all the skills as soon as they cooled down. (Laughs)

At Baron, you used as very effective Jarvan IV ult. Did you save it for that?

Summit: I usually try to use ults as often as possible. I just happened to be holding Jarvan’s ult, which was fortunate.

Akali was nerfed, yet you played her today. How is she?

Dove: Because of the nerf, she’s not as OP as she used to be, so I didn't play her that much. However,  when HLE picked Yasuo - Gragas, I thought Akali was perfect.

Did you predict that HLE will pick Yasuo Gragas?

Dove: No we didn’t. Since we were the red team and picked last, I thought we would get the better pick no matter what.

Did you have any plans prior to the match?

Dove: I wanted to play as aggressive in lane as possible.

(To Summit) Comet made a gesture to you as soon as the game was over. What was that about?

Summit: He did that because I did well but I shouldn’t be too cocky. I guess he got that idea from when I was too aggressive.

Summer is starting now. Any goals?

Summit: I’m glad we had a good start in the opening match. I’ll do my best to bring better results than the spring.

Dove: I’m only thinking of having better results than the spring.
