Stage 2 has been a memorable one for Min-seok "OGE" Son. He improved greatly since Stage 1 with great Winston and Reinhardt play. Going into Week 3, the Dallas Fuel was undefeated until hitting a huge roadblock named the Vancouver Titans. Although the Fuel lost, OGE was happy to talk to Inven Global about his improvement as a player, what he thinks of NotE, and his thoughts on the Dallas homestand.
Let's first talk about how much you've improved in Stage 2. Can you elaborate on how you improved?
I play a lot of GOATS so I feel like I'm starting to play better. Before Stage 2, I had an issue where I felt nervous — not every day, not every match. Sometimes, if I feel nervous then I couldn't play well. I couldn't translate how good I play in scrims to the stage.
I feel like I'm more comfortable on the stage now. I just focus on who we play against and it feels great that my nervousness is gone.
Before Stage 2 started, you guys acquired NotE from Boston. How much has he changed the way you play?
Right now, it's like we're just playing GOATS. I don't know how to play D.Va, but we have good communication with each other. NotE is a good caller, he is smart when it comes to the game, and a good professional when it comes to the team's needs.
Next week, the team are going to have games in Dallas. How excited are you to play in Dallas?
I haven't seen our stadium yet, but I'm really excited to play Houston and beat them. We always lose to Houston and I just don't like it. I'm going to try my hardest to beat them in front of our fans.
You played against the LA teams here in front of their crowds. What do you expect from the Dallas fans in your games next week?
I expect a lot of our fans to cheer loudly. I want to take their energy, show how confident I can play, and win our games.
Is there anything you want the fans to chant?
I'm not really into the cosplay like the LA fans have here. As a team, we expect everyone to cheer "Burn Blue!" very loud.
The finale of your homestand next week is against the Houston Outlaws. What are your thoughts about that match and how do you think the match is going to play out?
I want to s*** on them. I want to slam pretty much everyone. I want to make them feel bad. I think the score will 4-0. Actually, maybe 3-1 because we might make a little mistake. A 4-0 is not fun for our fans because the game will be over fast.
Is there anyone from Houston to look out for in that match?
I think Danteh and Muma are the players we should focus on. I think they don't have really good players.
Lastly, thanks and good luck next week in Dallas. Are there any shoutouts you want to give?
I want to say thank you to my father because I never talked to him about being a pro player. He wanted me to do a normal job, but I didn't say anything. It was a secret. I didn't want to tell my parents that I wanted to be a pro player. After they found out, he kept supporting and cheering me. He bought my PC and kept a good attitude in my career.
