On the 6th of March, [GM] Jinx responded to the inquiries and highly reasonable questions about the disciplinary action towards ROX in the LCL League.

For some background, ROX and Vaevictis were scheduled for a match in the Russian League (LCL). Controversy hit the air when ROX used all 5 of their provided bans on support champions. Riot Games then stated that this action was unacceptable due to the discrimination against the all-female team (Vaevictis). The response to this disciplinary action gave the source to chaos as the League of Legends Community started to blame Riot Games for a couple of reasons.

"You have sent me the VOD on the situation relating to the match against ROX and Vaevictis."

"First of, I want to sincerely apologize for my delayed response. We have been overloaded with work and have unfortunately been unavailable to respond immediately. We will try our utmost to not only provide quicker response times but also to deliver our responses in a detailed/accurate fashion."

"Due to the decision being made during the game in the LCL League, I am afraid it is very difficult for me to voice my opinion on the matter. However, we can give you the true reasoning behind the disciplinary action towards ROX."

"In any professional League, a professional League of Legends team is free to go about picks&bans (Draft Phase) in order to implement their own strategy while also countering the enemy team's strategy."

"In the game between ROX and Vaevictis, which occurred on the 16th of January, it was revealed through ROX's voice chat that ROX used terms of discrimination, insult, and despise towards Team Vaevictis during said Draft Phase."

"Through further inspection of the 5 support bans and ROX's content of conversation, it came to the conclusion that ROX had acted upon these bans in order to insult (acted on insulting manner) Team Vaevictis."

"According to LCL's guiding regulation 10.2.4 of Discrimination and Denigration, Team Members may not offend the dignity or integrity of a country, private person or group of people through contemptuous, discriminatory or denigrating words or actions on account of race, skin color, ethnic, national or social origin, gender, language, religion, political opinion or any other opinion, financial status, birth or any other status, sexual orientation or any other reason. Because ROX's actions went against this regulation, Team ROX was given a warning."
